The Blue Star restaurant in Welland doesn’t just have customers, it has lifers and they haven’t missed too many calls to the table. Kids who came in to eat with their parents in the 1940s are still pulling up a chair. For a restaurant without any airs, the Blue Star has a wall full of awards that say the community loves them and feels right at home. It was the home base for Peter Kormos and both Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and most recently Prime Minister Stephen Harper have been around for a meal.

Now, with Trish and Peter Chiasson bringing their talents, experience, and passion for creating great experiences for our guests, the Blue Star is entering an exciting new era. Their leadership is building on the restaurant’s proud history while introducing fresh ideas that ensure this Welland landmark continues to be a gathering place for families, friends, and community for years to come.

Our First Customers

On opening day under the new ownership, the Blue Star Restaurant had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. and Mrs. Poulin as the very first customers. To mark the occasion, Trish and Peter Chiasson personally presented them with commemorative Blue Star T-shirts, a gesture of gratitude and celebration as the restaurant begins this exciting new chapter.

Only $17.75 It stands tall and mighty beside the clown burger and crushes it with 2 x 5.66oz REAL BEEF Patties! We've decided to skip out on the middle bun as it's not necessary and will just barely fit in the mouths of mortals as is!

Try Our Eggs Benedict Yet?

Eggs Benedict is a common North American or brunch dish and a true favourite of our customers, consisting of two halves of an English muffin, each topped with Peameal bacon, a poached egg, and hollandaise sauce. Legend has It was popularized by Lemuel Benedict, a hungover Wall Street Broker in 1894 who ordered it at the Waldorf Hotel! - The head chef loved it and it is now served worldwide!
